Rachael Judge is the principal of Judge Architect, PC, an architecture and
design firm based in Long Beach, NY. She has been working in the architecture
and construction field since 1992. She is a Registered Architect in both New York and Pennsylvania. As a LEED
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate, Rachael is
committed to implementing practical and measurable green building design. The
firm participates in many organizations including the American Institute of
Architects (AIA), National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and The National
Historic and Preservation Society. Rachael has a Bachelor of Arts from
Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters of Architecture from Columbia
University in New York City.
Judge Architecture provides architectural services using AutoCAD software to
produce 2D Construction Documents and a combination of Sketch Up & Revit for 3D and BIM (Building Information Modeling) to provide a more accurate
model of the proposed design allowing clients a clearer picture of the design.
Additionally the BIM allows for a better understanding of the complete design
so that all trades & services can utilize the building model. BIM encourages early coordination of
design information, enabling earlier decision-making, better documentation and
easier evaluation of alternative materials, sustainable design and energy
analysis as needed on a project-to-project basis
Judge Architecture has several distinct advantages over the competition. Since
our product is a service, our company’s merit is based on the education and technical knowledge of the Architect,
Rachael Judge. Earning a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s of Science with a Major in Architecture from Washington University, Rachael
has 7 years of top academic design training. Both schools are ranked among the
top Architecture schools in the nation. Columbia University’s graduate program has been consistently ranked in the top three Graduate
programs in Architecture. The Master of Architecture Program distinguishes
itself from similar programs elsewhere by stressing the importance of
developing an understanding of, and an ability to apply, architectural concepts
in relation to broader historic and contemporary issues. The program helps the
Architect to develop theoretical basis for decision making in design, while
maintaining intense exposure to a broad spectrum of philosophical and cultural
attitudes. The curriculum is broadly divided into the study of history and
theory, technology, methods, visual studies, and design. In general, the
program seeks to impart basic principles and knowledge, to develop visual and
analytical skills, and to relate creativity to given cultural situations.
The combination of this theoretical design focused education and 18 years of
hands-on experience in working with small architectural firm has produced an
invaluable combination of the practical application of architecture with
abstract design concepts. This background provides the key tools necessary to
provide unique design solutions for every client.
